The “Dictionary of Romani Polite Expressions” was created jointly by Roma children attending the community centre run by Fundacja Dom Pokoju in Wrocław and by the artist Klaudia Borawiak, a graphic design student at SWPS University in Wrocław.
The project combines language education with artistic practice. The children created illustrations for Romani polite expressions, which were then graphically developed and animated. The activity supports language learning through creative play, while at the same time strengthening children’s agency and increasing the visibility of Romani culture.
The “Dictionary of Romani Polite Expressions” is part of the Contemporary gallery, available on E-Drom — a portal dedicated to the culture of Roma people.
