Miesiąc: październik 2024

In 2024, we created new thematic galleries on E-Drom.pl, our site of knowledge on Roma people. We’ve updated and enriched their content and invited new authors to join us.
In the Contemporaneity Gallery, Dr Elżbieta Mirga-Wójtowicz has expanded the Romano Kalendarzo (Roma calendar) with new dates and entries. Dr. Monika Szewczyk developed the content of the Map of Romani Culture in Poland, expanding it by 130 new places. We’ve published here an article on Roma media in Poland by Dr Elżbieta Mirga-Wójtowicz.
In the Art Gallery, you can find articles about the artists from the Łakatosz family: Róża, Noemi and Delfin, as well as interviews with the flamenco star and painter La Bogusha, Bogumiła Delimata and the singer-songwriter Angelo Ciureja. The interviews were conducted by Justyna Żarczyńska, writer, journalist and curator of the National Museum in Poznań.
In the Music Gallery, you can read an interview with Teresa Mirga, the great Roma poet and singer from the band Kałe Bała. The interview was conducted by Andrzej Grzymała-Kazłowski, Romaologist and owner of the Museum of Roma Culture in Warsaw.
A real rarity is the new gallery dedicated to the history and contemporary Roma clothing, which we have named “Fashion and Outfits”. In the gallery you will find fantastic graphics and photographs, as well as an introductory article by Dr Joanna Talewicz from the Towards Dialogue Foundation. You can also read an interview with Wanda Rutowicz, fashion designer and owner of the Roma Fashion Studio conducted by Małgorzata Brus and an article by Paweł Lechowski, which we’re publishing here thanks to the Przestrzenie Dziedzictwa Foundation.
The gallery was designed and created by Małgorzata Brus, MA, a costume designer and cultural expert associated with our Foundation.
The collections were lent by Andrzej Grzymała-Kazłowski, Wanda Rutowicz and Paweł Lechowski.
To collaborate on this year’s edition of E-Drom.pl, we invited esteemed Roma academics and activists as well as Roma scholars and professionals from various sectors.
